Police were conducting an investigation into recent violence in the Southwest District around 6:00 p.m. Friday.
As a part of the investigation officers obtained a search warrant for a home in the 2900 block of Belmont Avenue.
Once inside officers found a loaded handgun inside the home. Drugs, money and additional ammunition were also found.
The suspect 19-year-old Rashad Parks was arrested at the home and transported to Central Booking and Intake Facility.
There is no further information at this time.
