BALTIMORE — A September incident has been ruled a homicide following an autopsy by the Chief Medical Examiner.

On September 7, at around 2:30 p.m., police were called to the 1900 block of Riggs Avenue for a report of a person lying in the middle of the street. Officers arrived to find the victim unresponsive with a bump on his head.

It was unclear how he was injured, but medics transported him to Shock Trauma.

Police were told that the victim died on September 8 and, shortly after, the Chief Medical Examiner came to collect his body.

An autopsy was performed and the results confirmed that the victim, 40-year-old Paul Edwards, Jr., died as a result of a beating.
