It's Halloween! Tuesday evening kids will be hitting the streets, filling their bags with candy.
While they go door to door, adults looking to celebrate Halloween at a local bar may be out of luck. In Fells Point, bars are closing earlier than usual to avoid Halloween crime.
This comes after years of violence have plagued businesses in the city. Business owners say the violence started after 98 rock's formal costume party was pulled, and now it's turned into a lawless street party prompting them to act.
Last year three men were stabbed and one woman was shot.
Most of the bars on Thames Street are shutting their doors by 10:00 p.m., when in years past they've been open until 2:00 a.m.
The Green Turtle on Broadway is closing the earliest at 7:00 p.m. and Alexander’s Tavern on the same block will close at 9:30 p.m.
20 businesses in all agreed to shut their doors by 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
The neighborhood hopes to bring a profitable Halloween celebration back, but it will not be in 2017.
