On Tuesday the trial begins for two former members of the Baltimore City Police Gun Trace Task Force charged in a federal racketeering case.

Jury selection begins for Detectives Daniel Hersl and Marcus Taylor. They are accused of extorting and robbing residents, and overtime fraud. They are scheduled to be tried together.

Six other former members of the Gun Trace Task Force have already pleaded guilty to similar charges, including stealing cash and drugs, and re-selling the drugs on the street. A former Baltimore City police officer now working in Philadelphia, along with two civilians, have also pleaded guilty in the federal case.
