Two people died after being shot in Baltimore Sunday night. Police responded to the two shootings, one in the 3500 block of Hayward Avenue at 10:56 p.m. and one in the 200 block of N. Stricker Street at approximately 11:40 p.m., police said.
At Hayward Avenue, officers found Cortez Brown, 17, suffering from gunshot wounds, police said. Brown died after being transported to Sinai Hospital, police said.
Police said officers were able to identify and locate a suspect, Brandon Lucas, 25, of the 4000 block of Bonner Road, who was taken into custody and charged with first-degree attempted murder. Detectives are working with the State’s Attorney to have the charges amended to first-degree murder. According to police, Lucas is in central booking, waiting for his bail hearing.
Upon arrival to Stricker Street, officers found a 49-year-old woman seated in a silver 2005 Hyundai who had suffered “an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body,” according to police.
She was transported to shock trauma where she was pronounced dead a short time later.
