BALTIMORE — Two people were injured in shootings in East Baltimore within an hour of each other on Tuesday.
Baltimore Police were called to a local hospital just after 1:35 p.m. for a report of a walk in shooting victim.
Upon arrival, officers found a 23-year-old man suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the left hand. The victim told police that he was shot near Broadway and North Avenue when an unknown black male approached him and attempted to rob him.
Just after 2 p.m., officers responded to the area of 300 E. North Avenue for a shooting and upon arrival found a 44-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the left middle finger.
The victim told police he was sitting in his car somewhere near Chase Street when an unknown suspect walked up and discharged a firearm into his vehicle.
The victim then got out of his car and ran to the 300 block of E. North Avenue where he notified police.
Detectives do not believe the incidents are related.
