Two men shot, one critically injured in separate overnight shootings; BPD investigates

BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police are now investigating two overnight shootings.

The first happened Friday, at a little after 11:20 p.m., in Northeast Baltimore. Officers were called to the 3700 block of Mohawk Avenue for a report of shooting. When they arrived, they found a man that was suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. The victim was taken to an area hospital and is currently in critical condition.

The second shooting happened early Saturday morning at around 1:30 a.m. Officers responded to a Shotspotter alert in the 800 block of N. Caroline Street, but were not able to find a victim.

A short time later, officers were called to the fire station on Hillen Road, where a shooting victim, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the left thigh was located. It was determined that the victim had been shot on N. Caroline Street. He was transported to an area hospital and is in good condition. Since then, detectives have learned that an unknown suspect attempted to rob the victim before shooting him.
