BALTIMORE — Baltimore Police say a man was shot and killed in South Baltimore Saturday afternoon.
At a little before 1:20 p.m., officers were called to the 1700 block of McHenry Street for a ShotSpotter alert. When officers arrived, they found a male with multiple gunshots to his body.
The victim was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Monday, the victim was identified as 24-year-old Markel Jackson.
Homicide detectives are investigating this incident, so anyone with information is asked to call (410) 396-2100.
A similar shooting happened in Central Baltimore a couple hours later.
At around 3:35 p.m., officers were called to the area of Laurens and Pennsylvania Avenue for another ShotSpotter alert. When officers arrived, they found an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. This victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
