BALTIMORE, Md. — Baltimore Police are currently investigating several shootings during a violent weekend, that left two people dead and five others injured.
Sunday, March 10
A 63-year-old woman was the seventh person reportedly shot over the weekend in Baltimore.
Officers got the call around 6:10 p.m for a walk in victim at an area hospital. The victim told police she was shot in the arm around 3 a.m. while driving in the area of Gwynn Oak and Rogers Avenue. She reportedly first went home and decided to go to the hospital later in the evening.
Two hours earlier, a 35-year-old man was shot in the 2900 block of Mosher Street.
Responding officers found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the body. He was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Due to the victim's condition, homicide detectives took over the investigation and appeared to be assessing the inside and outside of a vacant home in the block which was cordoned off.
Earlier Sunday, just after 7:30 a.m. 27 year-old Mason Hailey was shot while sitting inside a vehicle on E. Hoffman Street. Detectives believe at least one suspect opened fire on the victim before fleeing. Haileywas able to drive over to E. Hoffman and Montford, where police found him but he later died at the hospital.
Hours earlier, around 3 a.m., police were called to investigate a reported shooting in the 5300 block of Norwood Avenue. There, they found a 30 year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower back. He was taken to an area hospital where his condition is unknown at this time.
Police say the victim was in the 5300 block of Norwood Avenue when he was approached by two unidentified male suspects, who pulled out a gun and shot him. Before fleeing, the suspects reportedly took the victims cell phone.
Saturday, March 9
At about 1:10 p.m., officers responded to the 2200 block of Edmondson Avenue for a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they found an unresponsive adult male, inside of a vehicle, shot to the torso.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where his condition is unknown at this time.
At 8:25 p.m., patrol officers responded to the 700 block of Linnard Street for a report of a shooting. On the scene, officers found 25 year-old Therone Jones III with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Late Saturday night, officers responded to an area hospital for their third shooting of the day.
When officers arrived, they found a 41-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. Investigators believe the victim was in the 1900 block of East Lanvale Street when he was shot by an unidentified suspect.
