11-year-old girl in serious condition after hit and run in Towson, police searching for driver

Baltimore County Police are searching for a hit and run driver that left an 11-year-old girl in serious condition.

According to police, on Friday afternoon officers were called to the scene of a crash on Chestnut Oak Road. 

Officials determined that the 11-year-old girl was crossing the street at the crosswalk of Chestnut Oak Road when she was struck by a burgundy four-door car driving southbound.

They say after hitting the girl, the driver turned on the westbound lane of Yakona Road and immediately left the scene.

The girl was transported to an area hospital and is currently in serious but non-life-threatening condition.

Police urge anyone who has information about this accident or the hit and run driver to please call 911 or the Baltimore County Police at 410-307-2020.
