A 19-year-old was arrested after a Maryland Transportation Authority Officer found over a thousand dollars worth of marijuana and a loaded gun in his car while driving down I-95.
The MDTA officer pulled over Kye-Ree Young around miles marker 62.8 for not using a seatbelt and an equipment violation. During a probable cause search, the officer found 157 grams of suspected marijuana and a loaded handgun.
MDTA Police charged Young with possession with the intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, knowingly transporting a firearm in a vehicle while traveling on a public road, being under the age of 21 and possessing a firearm, transporting a firearm while taking part in drug trafficking, and other related charges.
Young is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.
