PARKVILLE, Md. — Baltimore County Police have arrested an 11-year-old and an adult male for being involved in a Parkville carjacking.
On Tuesday, at around 7:25 p.m., police responded to the 1300 block of Mantle Street for a carjacking. The initial investigation determined that two suspects walked up to the victim, who had just parked his car, and asked for directions.
When the victim pulled out his cell phone, the suspects grabbed the phone, demanded money and took his keys. Following all of that, the two suspects stole his vehicle and fled the scene.
At around 1:30 a.m. the next morning, members of the Regional Auto Theft Task Force located the stolen vehicle after it crashed in Baltimore City. The suspects fled, but after a short foot chase, 18-year-old Kevon Darrell Saunders, of the 1500 block of East Lanvale Street, and an 11-year-old female from Baltimore were both arrested.
Saunders was charged with robbery, carjacking and various other charges, while the 11-year-old, who is a relative of Saunders, was charged with felony offenses.
He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on a no bail status pending a bail review.
