ESSEX, Md. — Baltimore County Police have arrested and charged a 38-year-old man in the stabbing death of another man in Essex.

Derrick Paul Christopher is accused of killing 51-year-old Thomas Eugene Hunt, around 1:30 a.m. on May 31 in the rear alley of the 1000 block of Arncliff Road.

Police say Christopher and Hunt met at the location to make a drug deal, and at some point got into an argument that ended with Christopher stabbing Hunt.

The victim died a short time later at an area hospital.

On Friday, Christopher was denied bond. Online court records show that he's scheduled for a July 12 preliminary hearing at the Baltimore County District Court in Towson.
