It was revealed that the suspect, 78-year-old Clifford Wilson Terry, wheeled his injured wife, 79-year-old Mary Kathleen Black Terry, out to their car. Once at the car, he shot his wife once in her upper body, which killed her, and then turned the gun on himself and shot himself once in the upper body.
The couple lived in the independent living area of the community, therefore, they were permitted to legally possess a firearm, which was removed from the scene. An additional investigation will be conducted on the firearm, which was a revolver, but police confirmed that the gun was not reported stolen.
The Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit is continuing their investigation in an effort to determine a motive for the killings.
