Couple who shot at other couple following altercation Sunday arrested

A man and a woman who shot at another couple following an altercation Sunday night have been arrested, Baltimore County Police said.

Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit arrested 29-year-old Qarier Onell Lovelace, of the 1200 block of South Marlyn Avenue in Essex, and 31-year-old Shakira Mikele Jackson, of the unit block of Handworth Way in Nottingham. The pair were charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and firearms charges. They are being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review.

Sunday night, police responded to MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center for the report of a 31-year-old man suffering a gunshot wound to the lower body. At the hospital, the victim said he and his girlfriend were involved in an altercation with another couple. The situation escalated to the point that the man was shot around 7:30 p.m. He was treated at the hospital and eventually released. Police identified Lovelace and Jackson as the other couple involved in the altercation.
