Baltimore County Police say they received tips that helped them find first the car and then the driver who fatally struck a pedestrian in Lansdowne Tuesday night.
Police say the teal colored 1997 Buick LeSabre with damage to the front of the car was found without tags in the 700 block of Wedeman Ave in Linthicum. The driver, who lived nearby, admitted his involvement to police. 62-year-old Lloyd Edward Willey was arrested and charged on citation with hit-and-run violations as well as driving without a license.
Police say the case will be forwarded to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office for review. Willey is currently being held on no bond status at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
The victim had been identified as 35-year-old Thomas Fisher of no fixed address in Glen Burnie.
Baltimore County Police had asked for the public’s help in finding the driver and vehicle wanted in relation to a fatal pedestrian crash that happened late Tuesday night in the Lansdowne area.
Police say the man was found lying in the southbound lane of Annapolis Rd north of Hoffman Ave close to the Anne Arundel County line by another driver around 10:45 p.m.
Police and fire crews responded, administering life-saving efforts and rushed the man to the hospital but he was pronounced deceased at Saint Agnes Hospital.
Based on evidence found at the scene, police believed the vehicle involved was a 1997-1999 Buick Le Sabre.
