DUNDALK, Md. — It was a beautiful Saturday evening in Dundalk, just off Eastern Avenue when neighbors in and out of their homes heard two shots punctuate the end of their summer.
"Everyone looked real upset,” said neighbor Keith Elliott. “Everyone was confused why it happened. People who saw it first before me, they were like, almost in tears after seeing something like that. There were kids playing on that trampoline right there. It was 6:30 on a Saturday."
Elliott was one of many neighbors who heard the shots and came outside.

He and others quick enough to see a bright blue car or SUV speed off, but then notice a woman face down on the pavement across from her home on Fairvew Avenue.
The victim’s name is Melissa Lynn West.
Jewelia Bryant knew her as the quiet girl across from the street but then watched in horror as she slipped away.
"She was laying down like, basically on the ground. I guess they shot her across the street and then she walked over and then I guess she just fell because I came out after it all happened and we were all like surrounding her," Bryant said.
Neighbors say while police got to this block in minutes -- the ambulance took a while.
West ended up dying at and area hospital, a murder Baltimore County says it needs help to solve.
Right now, they don’t have much to go on.
"Right now, we don’t have a lot of information to work with. We are still looking for some people to come forward. We know somebody must have heard or saw something that was going on and we just need them to give us a call," said Baltimore County Police Officer Jen Peach
