A former attorney has been charged with stealing nearly $75,000 from his clients, state prosecutors say.
Roger L. Harris is charged with misappropriating client funds for his own benefit between July 2014 and August 2016. An investigation was started in the Baltimore County State's Attorney's Office and the Attorney Grievance Commission of Maryland before being referred to the Office of the State Prosecutor. Harris was disbarred in Maryland on May 25, 2017.
"Attorneys, who act as both an advisor and a fiduciary to their clients, hold a position of trust," said State Prosecutor Emmet C. Davitt, "and violation of that trust is indefensible."
