OVERLEA, Md. — Instead of a warm cup of coffee Wednesday morning, customers were greeted with twisted metal and broken glass at this 7-Eleven in Overlea.
By nightfall, the clean up continued from the brazen robbery.
Police say four men in a truck slammed through the front glass of a 7-Eleven and stole the ATM all while the sales assistant was just feet away.
Walter Farrier goes to the 7-Eleven often and has talked with the clerk before. Farrier was glad the worker wasn’t hurt.
"Especially this guy. He’s a really nice guy. He’s here every day, rain or shine doing his job for us in the morning," said Farrier.
The manager tells WMAR-2 News he isn’t sure yet how much or if any money was stolen.

The 7-Eleven stayed open while workers shored up the window.
As bold and dangerous as the robbery was, some residents in the area know there’s a good chance it could have been even more dangerous.
"It’s terrible. I’ve heard of these things done before. People do all kind of crazy things these days. Thank God somebody didn’t pull out a gun and start shooting," said Bruce Peters.
Baltimore County police are investigating the incident and are looking through surveillance video for any leads.
