A man is now in police custody after they say he shot his pregnant wife and assaulted her son as well as other children.

Police say Eric Maurice Glass, 30, went to his house in the 2500 block of Wentworth Road Tuesday night and shot his pregnant 30-year-old wife, Jasmine Alisha Kennedy. After shooting her he then shot himself in the head and punched Kennedy's 14-year-old son.

The children inside the Wentworth Road home were able to escape and run to a neighbors house, but police say Glass forced his way inside the house and assaulted the people inside. He then left the neighbors house and was detained by another neighbor until police came and arrested him.

Kennedy was taken to a hospital where doctors were able to deliver the baby. She was still in critical condition after the delivery and was placed on life support. On Wednesday, she was removed from life support and pronounced dead.

The newborn baby is listed in critical condition but is stable.

Glass has been charged with first-degree assault, attempted first-degree murder, second-degree child abuse, third-degree burglary, and second-degree assault. He is currently being held on a denied bail status. The Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office will upgrade Glass’ charges at a later date.
