Police have arrested a man they believe to be responsible for multiple crimes this past Sunday in Western Baltimore County, including the shooting of a 66-year-old woman.
Officials say the 26-year-old suspect began his spree just after 7 p.m. in the unit block of Comill Court. There the suspect allegedly assaulted and stole from a family member. The subject then fled the scene in a Ford Mustang.
Just before 7:45 p.m., the suspect arrived in the 7400 block of Ricksway Road. The man reportedly fired a gun through the front door of a residence in the block, striking a woman in the upper body. Once again the subject fled in the same Ford Mustang. The victim is listed in serious but stable condition at an area hospital.
Detectives are working to link the suspect to at least two additional crimes that occurred later that night. The first incident was reported as a shooting and occurred after 8:20 p.m. Officers found the front side of a home to be damaged by gunfire. Less than 15 minutes later, a burglary was called in for the 9900 block of Shoshone Way. There was also a discharging of a firearm call four minutes later in the 4600 block of Talman Road. Police however say that call was unsubstantiated.
Investigators determined the suspect had associates in each area of where the crimes occurred, and in turn put out a county-wide notification on the subjects vehicle.
Just after 9 p.m., a Police Sergeant located and stopped the Ford Mustang in question on Reisterstown Road near Mount Wilson Lane. The suspect, whose identity has not yet been released was placed under arrest.
Police expect to release the mans name once his is formally charged.
