A shooting in a Windsor Mill parking lot left one man dead, Baltimore County Police said.
Officers were flagged down by someone who directed them to the victim lying in a parking lot in front of a carryout food business in the 8000 block of Liberty Road, police said. The victim, a 27-year-old man, appeared to be suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medics.
The man was later identified as Artis Dewayne, of the 1400 block of Clairidge Road in Baltimore.
Baltimore County Homicide Unit detectives determined that minutes before the officer who responded drove by the area, Dewayne was shot while leaving the carryout restaurant at about 11:56 p.m. The suspected shooter fled before police arrived.
