GWYNN OAK, Md. — Baltimore County Police are now investigating a Thursday morning stabbing in Gwynn Oak that left one man injured.

Just before 5 a.m., police were called to the 3600 block of Campfield Road for a stabbing. Responding officers arrived to find a man outside the home suffering from trauma to the upper body.

He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Sometime after, officers located the suspect, 29-year-old Michael Anthony Young, of the 2900 block of Allendale Road, walking nearby. Young was arrested and treated at an area hospital for minor injuries before being released back into police custody.

After an investigation, detectives found out that the victim invited Young to his home when they began arguing. The argument escalated when Young stabbed the victim in the upper body with a sharp edged weapon several times. The victim then fled the home to seek help while Young left the location on foot.

Young, who is being charged with attempted first degree murder, first degree assault, second degree assault and having a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure, is currently being held on no bail status at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review hearing.

Detectives from the Pikesville Precinct Investigative Services Team are continuing the investigating into this incident, so anyone with additional information is asked to contact detectives by calling 410-887-1279.
