Police were finally able to speak with the woman who was shot in a road rage incident on I-695 over the weekend.
A dark-colored, black or grey, Nissan sedan was driving erratically eastbound down the Beltway near Harford Road, swerving lanes, ultimately slamming on the brakes and slowing down a non-descriptive white van. From there the 58-year-old woman, who had just driven onto the Beltway, had tried to get around the slower cars before she was shot.
The victim told police the driver of the sedan was a black man and the front passenger was a white woman wearing a yellow shirt.
It is still unclear whether the driver or the passenger fired the single shot that hit the woman.
Officials have not released the name of the victim at this time but say she is in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive.
Police continue to ask that any potential witnesses come forward with any information they may have. If you were on I-695 eastbound/inner loop around noon on Sunday, and recall seeing a white van or a dark colored Nissan driving aggressively in the Towson or Parkville area, please contact police by calling 410-307-2020.
