Carroll County convenience store armed robbery arrested in Baltimore

Posted

A man who robbed a Carroll County convenience store on Aug. 2 was arrested in Baltimore Wednesday, Westminster Police said.

Reginald Thomas Johnson, 20, of the 500 block of Poole Road in Westminster, was arrested in Baltimore's Brooklyn neighborhood by city police. Johnson was then transferred to the custody of Westminster Police, who charged him with armed robbery and first degree assault.

Police allege Johnson robbed the Carroll Mart convenience store on East Main Street at 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 2. Johnson allegedly entered the store, displayed a gun, and demanded money from the cashier. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, he fled on foot.

He was not found in a search of the area after the robbery, so police distributed Johnson's photo to develop leads. Detectives used information they discovered about the robbery to obtain a warrant to search the Poole Road residence that turned out to be Johnson's. There they found evidence linking him to the robbery and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Johnson is currently being held in the Carroll County Detention Center on no bond, pending a review.
