Carroll County Sheriff’s Office makes arrest in arson threat

CARROLL COUNTY, Md. — A Carroll County man has been arrested and charged with an arson threat, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office said on Monday.

Detectives say on the morning of March 27, the Northern York County Regional Police Department responded to two barns on fire in the Manheim Township. The investigation identified 64-year-old David Sterner as a suspect, and an arrest warrant was obtained.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that Sterner traveled to a residence on Tracey's Mill Road and made additional threats of arson. Detectives from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded and David Sterner was placed under arrest

NYCRPD has the detainer filed for their charges as well, so when released from Carroll County, he will be extradited to York County, PA, to face the arson charges there
