A federal grand jury indicted a Carroll County Public School teacher for attempting to coerce a minor to engage in sexual activity.
The indictment states Kenneth Fischer, 39, used email and text messages to try to get the minor to meet him for sex. Investigators say those communications took place between August 31, 2017 and September 5, 2017.
Fischer, of Westminster, faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison if convicted. He was arrested in Carroll County on related charges and has been in custody since last September.
