State Fire Marshals charged a 10-year-old boy for malicious burning in the 2nd Degree, after they say he set a mattress on fire using a cigarette lighter.
According to officials, upon arrival to the scene, the fire had been extinguished and they requested further investigation from the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
The incident was reported around 3:00 pm Wednesday after a neighbor contacted 9-1-1 to report a burning mattress.
The boy has been released to his parents. No further information on the court date.
