Cecil County Sheriff's office confirmed that two people were fatally shot in Elkton Monday night.

Police responded to the 900 block of West Pulaski Highway around 9:30 p.m. to find two gunshot wound victims.

"At that point, we made contact with several individuals on scene. We identified a suspect at that time. We also discovered that our female victim's vehicle was missing from the residence," Lt. Michael Holmes told ABC2.

The victims have been identified as 30-year-old James David Crockett Jr. and 50-year-old Vicky Lynn Holbrook, both of Elkton. The suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Marty Cyle Holbrook of the 900 block of West Pulaski Highway in Elkton.

Lt. Holbrook told ABC2 the victims are a mother and her son.

A concerned relative took Holbrook to the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office approximately two hours later, where he was taken into custody. He was later transported to a medical facility for an unrelated medical condition.

Deputies say the female victim’s 2004 Ford Explorer was later located at the home of the family member who turned Holbrook in.

Holbrook has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and firearm charges.

Police say they intend to serve him with an arrest warrant once he’s released from medical care. The sheriff's office is actively investigating the incident.
