Father stabbed to death by son during fight in Port Deposit

PORT DEPOSIT, Md. — Cecil County Police are investigating a deadly stabbing that happened Thursday evening in Port Deposit.

According to police, witnesses told them the incident resulted from a fight. They say the man, identified as 47-year-old Ralph Harrison Ford, got into an argument with his son, 21-year-old Zachary Dylan Michael Ford, before it escalated into a physical fight. Witnesses reported seeing the son punch his father in the torso, causing him to bleed. They also told police they saw the son brandishing a knife.

Police say Zachary called 911 and told them he had stabbed his father.

When officers arrived at the unit block of Lagoon Drive in Port Deposit they found Ralph Ford lying in the yard and suffering from a stab wound. He was later pronounced deceased at the scene by Emergency Medical Personnel.

Zachary has been charged with first and second-degree murder and is being held at the Cecil County Correctional Facility without bond.
