ELKTON, Md. — A former high school gym teacher has been sentenced after pleading guilty to felony animal cruelty charges.
On Monday, a Cecil County Circuit Court judge sentenced 36-year-old Todd Corron to three years in jail with all but six months suspended for beating and strangling a 4-month-old puppy to death.

The incident took place on June 16, 2018 at a home on Harrisville Road, in Colora. At the time, Corron was a physical education teacher at Elkton High School.
According to Robert Buckley, the associate superintendent for Cecil County Public Schools, Corron is no longer employed with the school system.
