Two people are charged with robbery after state police caught one of them holding up a Cecil County convenience store with a machete Tuesday night.
Sarah Beth Clendaniel, 28, and Allen Lynn White, 59, were charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault and other charges, police said.
Clendaniel allegedly tried to rob the High’s Dairy Store in the 3100 block of Joseph Biggs Memorial Highway near North East, threatening two clerks with a machete and demanding they open their register.
White was found sitting in a running 1998 GMC truck in dead-end lane in a secluded residential area about 100 yards north of the store, police said. When contacted by troopers, he voluntarily admitted he was waiting for Clendaniel.
Investigators linked Clendaniel to three other open robbery investigations involving a machete.
On March 21, clerks at the Pantry 1 Mart near Rising Sun told troopers a petite female entered the store around 8:37 p.m., brandished a machete and demanded cash and cigarettes.
The next day, a similar incident was reported at the High's Dairy Store in the 3100 block of Joseph Biggs Memorial Highway.
And on March 25, the Pantry 1 Mart was robbed again by a woman with a machete, who once again robbed the store of cash and cigarettes.
