An Eastern Shore man has been arrested for arson after admitting he set his father's boat on fire.
Just after 7:30 p.m. Monday, firefighters were called to 15190 Drapers Mill Road in Goldsboro, Caroline County. There, they found a 25-foot Sea Ray boat on fire.
According to investigators with the State Fire Marshal's office, Brian T. Smith lit the boat on fire and then told his father about it.
Smith admitted to setting the fire and was taken into custody at the scene. He faces a host of charges including arson and malicious destruction of property. If convicted on all charges, Smith could spend more than 20 years in prison.
