Police in Queen Anne's County were called to an assisted living facility Monday morning after a resident found a controlled dangerous substance at the facility.
At about 6:50 a.m., police were called to the Safe Haven Assisted Living residence when a person there reported finding a controlled dangerous substance, claiming it belonged to one of the facility's employees. When police arrived, the employee was gone from the scene, but deputies later found the employee on foot.
The substance found at the facility is believed to be heroin and paraphernalia, but it will be tested to confirm. If it is determined to be a controlled dangerous substance, the worker from the home could be charged.
