Grocery store bank robber wanted in Montgomery County

Montgomery County Police are seeking a man who robbed four banks inside grocery stores in the three months.

Detectives said the robber targeted SunTrust Banks found inside Safeway grocery stores, three times hitting the same bank location. In all four robberies, the suspect approached a teller, produced a note demanding cash, and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. All four occurred between 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The most recent robbery occurred on April 4, at about 3:39 p.m. Officers responded to the SunTrust bank inside the Safeway at 15411 New Hampshire Avenue in Cloverly for a reported robbery.

Roughly a month prior, on March 3, at about 4:55 p.m., officers responded to another SunTrust bank, this one inside the Safeway at 14939 Shady Grove Road in Rockville for a reported robbery. The robber had previously targeted the same bank on Feb. 3 at 3:52 p.m., and before that, on Jan. 27 at 4:05 p.m.
