19-year-old man killed in Edgewood High School parking lot

Harford County Sheriff’s Detectives are seeking information regarding an Edgewood homicide that happened on Friday night.

At about 9:20 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southern Precinct responded to the 2400 block of Willoughby Beach Road for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a male victim sitting in a vehicle in the parking lot of Edgewood High School suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.

The school was closed and no activities were taking place.

Medics with the Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company transported the victim, who was later identified as 19-year-old Thailek Jacob Willis, of Edgewood, to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division took control of the investigation.
