A police commander with the Aberdeen Police Department has been suspended for evidence tampering.

On August 2, 2017, officials at the police department started an investigation into alleged criminal misconduct by a member of the command staff.

Through the investigation, it was revealed that an 18-year veteran lieutenant had tampered with drug evidence. Their powers were suspended immediately.
