A Bel Air woman was arrested after she hit a police car and fled the scene early Sunday morning.
Bel Air Police charged Katherine Toscano, 28, with driving under the influence, fleeing and eluding and several other traffic violations.
Police said an officer saw Toscano’s car driving the wrong way on South Bond Street around 1:30 a.m. During the traffic stop, Toscano backed into the officer’s cruiser and tried to flee south on Bond Street. The officer pursued Toscano who lost control on Churchville Road and crashed into an embankment. Police caught her as she tried to flee on foot.
The officer, identified as Officer Alex Maro, suffered minor injuries but has returned to duty.
