Suspect fires multiple rounds at Harford deputies, now in custody

STREET, Md. — Harford County Deputies have taken one suspect into custody on Tuesday after the suspect fired multiple rounds at officers.

Officials say at approximately 7 p.m., deputies responded to the 4500 block of Oak Ridge Drive in Street for the report of Animal Cruelty and a domestic incident. Upon arrival, while attempting to make contact at the residence, deputies were fired upon.

Deputies then established a perimeter while the individual continued to fire at deputies.

Officials say the suspect fire dozens of rounds, striking at least on police vehicle. An adult neighbor was also struck. He was taken to York Hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Following negotiations with the Crisis Negotiation Team, the suspect surrendered to deputies at around 8:30 p.m.

No deputies were injured as a result of the incident. No force was used as a result of the incident.

The investigation is continuing, no further information will be released at this time.
