A suspect in an Edgewood home invasion was shot and killed during a violent confrontation inside the home Sunday night.
Around 11 p.m., Harford County sheriff's deputies were called to the 2500 block of Thornberry Drive to investigate a shooting. When they arrived, deputies found 34-year-old Javon Brookes Langston lying on the floor inside the home with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso.
Langston, whose last known address was in Aberdeen, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe Langston and several other men allegedly broke into the home and were confronted by the homeowner, according to the sheriff's office.
Several shots were fired from more than one weapon during the confrontation, police said. It's unclear who fired the shots.
Police searched the area for potential suspects without success.
The motive for the home invasion is under investigation, but detectives don't think it was random.
Investigators with the forensic unit processed the scene and detectives interviewed witnesses through the night.
The investigation into the shooting and home invasion is ongoing.
