Howard County Police say they arrested 11 people for impaired driving in one night.
The police department had extra officers who focused specifically on finding impaired drivers Wednesday night.
The following people were arrests and charged with driving under the influence.
- Stephen Lyndon Abbott, 50, of Westminster
- Dung Chi Nhan, 40, of Ellicott City
- Michael Ellsworth Diggs, 39, of Laurel
- Afton Paquita Smith, 34, of Ellicott City
- Aubrey Wilson Baber III, 32, of Jessup
- Van Cung Bik, 27, of Baltimore
- Everardo Martinez Gancedo, 24, of Mt. Airy
- Corey Lucas Macklin, 24, of Laurel
- Zachary Ellis Mitchell, 24, of Laurel
- Godfrey I. Ovia Jr., 22, of Jessup
- Quann Joseph Crump, 21, of Baltimore
Police want to remind the community to always have a sober driver or to not drink and drive. A sobriety checkpoint will be in Howard County this weekend to make sure the roads are safe.
This holiday season, officers are also focusing on speeding, seat belt violations, distracted driving, as well as other traffic violations.
