COLUMBIA, Md. — Howard County police arrested and charged a suspect in the murder of a Jessup man in Columbia .
Officers were called to the 12000 block of Little Patuxent Parkway at around 1:30 p.m. for a report that someone had been shot.
They arrived to the scene and found 21-year-old Taiwon Dashon Dorsey of Jessup suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he later died.
Police believe that the shooting occurred outside the 12000 block of Green Meadow Drive.
Officers later found the suspect they identified as 22-year-old Franck Ngande of Green Meadow Drive. Ngande has been charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, assault, drug possession and the use of a firearm in a felony. He is being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center.
