Three teens have been arrested and charged for their roles in a three-day "crime wave" in Howard County last month, Howard County officials said Friday.
The teens – a 15-year-old boy from Baltimore, an 11-year-old boy from Columbia, and a 14-year-old boy from Columbia – victimized several Columbia establishments from June 16 to June 19 in four incidents.
On June 16, the teens are accused of stealing a golf car from a parking lot at Columbia Mall and assaulting an employee at the Central Library in an attempt to steal a purse.
On June 19, they allegedly stole an iPhone from the Verizon Store in the Columbia Mall. That same day, they are also accused of breaking a glass door in an attempt to enter an apartment lobby in the 5400 block of Lynx Lane.
The teens face charges including assault, reckless endangerment, burglary, motor vehicle theft, and theft.
