Four men, ranging in age from 20 to 47, were arrested as part of a prostitution sting Monday in Howard County.

As part of their efforts to combat prostitution and human trafficking the Howard County Police orchestrated an undercover operation at a hotel in the 9800 block of Washington Boulevard in Laurel, police said. Detectives placed fake ads on websites known to be used for prostitution, and when men called the listed number, an officer provided a meeting location upon request.

When men arrived at the location and offered money for sex acts, they were arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution and disorderly conduct.

As part of the effort to combat human trafficking, the Howard County Police ask anyone who may have knowledge of such crimes, or who may have witnessed them or been victims of them, to call 911, or speak to a detective privately at 410-313-3200, use the county tippling at 410-290-3784, or email hcpdcrimetips@howardcountymd.gov.
