Howard County Police charge four from DC-area in commercial robberies

COLUMBIA, Md. — Howard County police arrested four people from the Washington D.C. area for allegedly perpetrating a string of retail robberies in Maryland and neighboring states.

The suspects ranged in age from 18 to 27, all either being residents of Washington D.C. or its immediate suburbs. The four are charged with armed robbery, robbery, assault, and theft. They are:

  • Princess Brown, 27, of Stanton Road SE, Washington, D.C.
  • Jai Jenkins, 18, of Bayley Place NE, Washington, D.C.
  • Antoinette Jones, 25, of Glassmanor Drive in Oxon Hill, Prince George’s County, Md.
  • Alaysha Simmons, 18, of Gales Street NE, Washington, D.C.

Police charged them in a series of robberies at the Nordstrom Rack in the 6100 block of Columbia Crossing Circle in Columbia that occurred between Nov. 28 and Dec. 1. Police said they stole merchandise, then used stun guns and pepper spray when employees tried to intervene. No one was injured.

Jenkins, Simmons, and Jones are being held at the Howard County Detention Center. Brown is being held in a nearby jurisdiction.
