Howard County police have charged two men with attempted murder after they planned an attack at a BP gas station. Police say Malcolm Littlejohn and Eric Exum conspired to have Paul Albritton assaulted.

Exum was an employee of Albritton and rode with him to the gas station on October 4. After Albritton got out of the car, Littlejohn hit Albritton over the head with a wooden two by four.

An investigation later revealed that the two men were in constant contact prior to the attack and knew that Albritton regularly stopped at the BP gas station on 8800 block of Washington Boulevard.

Police have charged both men with attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and assault.

Officials say they will remain at Howard County detention center where they are being held without bond.

Albritton remains in a long-term care facility after suffering a severe head injury. Police still don’t know what the motive was for the attack.
