A man accused of breaking into 63 storage units in Columbia has been charged.
24-year-old Jaquan Ramon Lewis has been charged with nearly 200 criminal counts including 2nd-degree burglary, 4th-degree burglary, destruction of property, theft, and theft scheme.
Detectives believe in 2016 Lewis broke into the Mini U Storage in the 9400 block of Snowden River Parkway by cutting a hole through the fence. Employees at that storage facility later found locks had been cut off multiple storage units, and people's personal items were gone. A rifle, electronics, and jewelry were reported missing.
Through an investigation, police were able to identify Lewis as a suspect and arrest him. At this time they believe more people may be involved.
