A Laurel man is in serious condition after he was hit by a car Wednesday morning.
Howard County Police say that David Charles Roy, 61, was hit by a car that was driving southbound on Washington Boulevard around 6:00 a.m.
Roy was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and was listed in serious, but stable condition.
The driver, Elmer Lopez Landaverde, 36, was not injured and stayed on the scene.
After a preliminary investigation, police believe Roy was crossing Route 1 wearing dark clothing and was not in a crosswalk when he was hit.
The investigation is still ongoing.
