We've heard of teachers using their own money to buy classroom supplies, but you may be surprised by just how many are doing it.
In Maryland, 91 percent of teachers paid for school supplies out of their own pockets.
That's according to a new study that also found more than 40 percent of teachers work a second job to make ends meet and nearly 70-percent said their schools don't have the funding needed to help make every student successful.
The Maryland State Education Association, which sponsored the study, is now calling on the general assembly to act.
