A Florida high school student became a viral sensation after she wore a Black Lives Matter-inspired dress to her senior prom.
The black dress featured 15 images of unarmed African-Americans killed at the hands of police, including Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Sandra Bland and Tamir Rice. These cases gained national attention in recent years.
Milan Bolden-Morris, 17, wore the dress Friday to Pahokee High School’s prom.
She told CNN she wore the dress because, "When someone loses a mother, father or child in unnecessary circumstances, it should not be overlooked but addressed."
The Florida-based dress designer, Terrence Torrence, said he's overwhelmed by the response his dress has received and that most of the reactions have been positive.
Bolden-Morris posted two pictures on Instagram of her wearing the dress. The images have garnered more than 24,000 combined likes.
